Villa del Grumello

Villa del Grumello in Como offers breathtaking views of the first basin of the lake, just a stone’s throw from the city centre. It is situated within a centuries-old park of immense natural and scenic significance, meticulously restored by the Villa del Grumello Association.

The construction of this villa, marked by various vicissitudes, was ultimately completed in the 18th century. Evidence of its existence dates back to the 15th century. Over the years, the villa was adorned with gardens and stables and played host to notable figures, including Alessandro Volta and Ugo Foscolo. In the 2000s, a comprehensive restoration project returned the villa to its former glory. This project included the restoration of its greenhouses and the transformation of its stables into venues for workshops and courses.

Its park boasts a romantic landscape, with panoramic pathways leading to numerous vantage points and various natural settings. Among the park’s diverse plant species, you will find remarkable specimens such as camphor trees, sequoias, and an ancient Ginko biloba tree.
